Overlooking the Firth of Clyde, the Ardrossan based The Inventor's Gin Co. Ltd is a husband & wife team taking their inspiration from the land & sea, fused with Scotland's rich history of world changing inventions & discoveries.
Our multi-award award winning first gin was inspired by Scotland’s huge contributions to the Industrial Revolution.
A smooth juniper led, gin, infused with handpicked Ayrshire nettle and heather root the spirit to the landscape, while the home smoked, pink peppercorns & home grown red chillies stoke the fire of your soul.
Using local ingredients and being hand crafted, the process introduces minor variations from batch to batch, these differences are celebrated by individually numbering each bottle.
All operations are carried out at one site. The base spirit is slowly infused with the chosen gingredients, before distillation in a traditional copper pot still. Only the carefully selected heart of the collected spirit is used to make gin. Each bottle is filled, corked, labelled and wax sealed by hand.
The resulting gin has a smooth and rich mouthfeel, juniper starts the party on tastebuds, while the pink peppercorn & chillies quickly follow - each one dancing on the tongue in succession, the heather & nettle come through and lengthen the taste, and finally the gingery spices make themselves felt as a lovely warm glow which last for several seconds.
Spicy? – yes. Blow your socks off? – no.
