Sarah Cemmick

Sarah Graduated in Environmental illustration at the University of Sunderland in 1996. With the help of the Prince’s Trust she began printmaking full time, which started a love affair with Lino.

Using traditional techniques, with the same set of tools she has used since her very first linocut, designs are carved into Lino blocks. Prints are pulled using linseed oil ink which allows some pieces to be additionally tinted with watercolour to give added texture. She also uses beautiful Japanese tissues with gold & silver foil flecks which give decorative effects to her printed images.

Influenced by wildlife be it fluffy, furry or feathered, Sarah has continued to explore a variety of themes, hares and swallows being particular favourites.

The complimentary collection of self published art cards continues to grow year on year with the addition of a themed calendar which always sells out.

Works are held in private collections across the globe and have been commissioned by The National Trust, RSPB and The Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust (GWCT) as well as published in several books including 'The Artful Hare' by Mascot Media and can be seen at galleries throughout the UK.

Sarah now lives and works from her home, The Pink House in Cumbria alongside her artist husband David, two children, Rosie and Woody and her muses, Bonzo the mini longhaired dachshund & Tinker the outrageous Ginger Tom.
