This pastel blue landscape scattered with pale green cacti is synonymous with the artist's Mexican homeland. Dressed in traditional costume, with marigolds adorning her hair and red rouged cheeks, she clasps a green parakeet - a bird often used to symbolise the power of the inner mind.
