The concept draws inspiration from the veranda—a versatile space in the home that bridges the indoors and outdoors, where you can relax, tend to plants, or simply enjoy the view. This essence defines the Veranda project: a collaboration with artists, companies, and organizations to create botanical-themed illustrations on Japanese-inspired packaging. Every project has its own “message in the seeds,” ready to be shared and gifted to the world, because at Piccolo, we believe seeds hold immense potential. Through the Veranda project, we aim to create not just functional but beautifully designed products that inspire people to make the world a greener place.
Piccolo’s #WasteNoSeeds Limited Edition
In addition to custom projects, Piccolo also offers its own limited-edition series, including the #WasteNoSeeds collection. These series exemplify what we can achieve through meaningful collaboration. The #WasteNoSeeds packets were conceived in partnership with the Treviso Comic Book Festival, which invited three Italian illustrators to create exclusive artwork for Piccolo. This edition redefines the value of seeds by featuring “expired” seeds—still perfectly viable for planting but often overlooked or discarded. Each packet contains seeds that are technically past their expiry date yet retain their ability to grow. Offering “expired” seeds may seem provocative, but it underscores their intrinsic value. In a future where resources may be scarce, seeds will become priceless. That’s why we choose to share them rather than let them go to waste.
