Whisky Barrel Coaster
Our beautiful new Whisky Barrel Coasters are the ultimate in up-cycling! When the whisky barrels are no longer usable, they can be sent for scrap. We at Ailsa Craig Gifts have re-imagined these hard worked pieces of wood into a whole new product. With time and effort, they are transformed into beautiful pieces of wood that can then be cut and engraved to produce stunning coasters. What could be more appropriate than changing whisky barrels into drinks coasters! They are designed to go specifically with Whisky tasting glasses.
The end results have Scotland written all over them, from the engraved designs to the wood they are made from. We source the whisky barrel staves from a local supplier in South Ayrshire. These are then cut to size in our workshop, sanded, sealed and given a final coat of beeswax to bring out the natural beauty of the wood. We leave as much of the history of the wood as we can and these become the canvas for our designs. Each coaster is then engraved to produce a unique gift or just a special place to rest your glass.
Whisky Barrel Coasters are one of the truly Scottish gifts that make up our collection using wherever possible materials sourced in Scotland.
Each Whisky Barrel Coaster is approximately 7.2cm in diameter, but sizes may vary as they are made from natural recycled wood.
